What's the difference between a toolbox and a toolkit?
A toolbox is a themed collection of related toolkits.
A toolkit is a specific tool for a specific situation — the frameworks, AI prompts, apps and guidance you need to work through one thing.
How do the Forte apps work?
Each toolkit includes at least one AI-connected app. It’s a structured thinking tool built on the toolkit’s methodology — designed to help you see angles you might have missed, not to hand you an answer.
It should not ever be used for employment decision making. They are solely to be used as a professional development and ideation tool.
How does Forte work with my large language model?
Forte uses a “bring your own key” (BYOK) model. You provide your own API key from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), Gemini, or Azure (CoPilot).
The Forte apps send your inputs to the model you’ve chosen, along with the toolkit’s frameworks and prompts.
Do I need my own API key? (BYOK explained)
Yes. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) means you maintain your own account with the AI provider.
This gives you direct control over usage, cost, and data. It also means your inputs are never routed through Forte servers — they go from your browser to the AI provider and back. We’ll guide you through setup when you subscribe.
Where does my data live?
Your API key and the content of your Forte sessions live in your browser’s local storage — never on Forte servers and never logged by us.
Local storage clears after 14 days by default. Exports of your work are unbranded, so anything you save to share is fully yours.
Are my exports branded with Forte?
No. When you export work from the Forte app, suggested scripts, plans, and drafts come out as a clean document with no Forte branding, Merevie branding, or metadata attached.
This is intentional. Your work product is yours.
Can I share my plan with someone else?
No. Plans/licenses are named to an individual and tied to one person’s account.
The apps personalize for the user (local storage only) and shared accounts break the experience. If more than one person needs access, additional plans are the path.
What if my team has more than 4 people?
We’ll work with you on pricing, onboarding and the mix of plans that fit your team. Contact us to start a conversation.
Can I rely on Forte for HR advice?
No. Forte is a thinking partner, not a substitute for qualified HR counsel.
It can help you think through a situation, prepare for a conversation, or structure an approach. When a situation is complex, sensitive, or high-stakes, partner with qualified HR support or legal counsel.
Can I rely on Forte for legal advice?
No. Forte does not provide legal advice.
Nothing in the platform should be treated as legal counsel. For legal matters, consult a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction.
How does Forte handle my data and privacy?
Your API key lives only in your browser’s local storage — never on our servers. Your session content lives in the same place and clears after 14 days by default.
Forte does not log, cache, or transmit your API key or the content of your AI interactions. Exports from Forte apps are unbranded and fully yours.
